Streamlining and qualification to more than 20 refrigerants support HVAC-R business
The Danfoss range of EVR v2 solenoid valves has undergone a wide series of improvements throughout 2017. Reinforcements and rationalization make them capable of accommodating the higher pressures of refrigerants and a broader range of applications while reducing the references, inventory, and servicing time. Decisive benefits for the HVAC-R professionals are reduced applied and running costs without compromising on reliability, in all applications, including from cold rooms to chillers and heat pumps.

Higher MOPD and new features compatible with modern refrigerants

Danfoss EVR range has a proven track record with more than 30 years of presence in a very wide scope of air conditioning and refrigeration applications such as walk-in cold rooms, display freezers and refrigerators, chillers, rooftops or close controls. 10 key features have been applied to enhance design robustness in more applications, increase functionality and make service easier.

They will be progressively available at wholesalers up through March 2018.

EVR v2 valves are now optimized for the business success of manufacturers and installers in:

Air Conditioning:

Commercial Refrigeration and Food Retail:

The reliable and versatile new EVR valve platform covers a wide range of functions, applications, and refrigerants. The platform is approved for lower-GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants, including R290 propane. Besides, tight solenoid closure safeguards the system and contribute to food safety and with enhanced flow characteristics for high efficiency. In the liquid line, the tight shut off prevents from refrigerant flow back to the compression side. In the discharge line, the new Danfoss EVR v2 can stand high temperatures and save on the system energy consumption compared to other defrost methods. Therefore, they bring high value in the very demanding and freezing such as ice making machines, cold rooms, freezers or ice cream machines where they undergo additional stress due to the rapid defrosting cycles and/or short hot gas injection cycles and where a suction line solenoid valve is required for defrosting.

EVR valves are ideal for applications such as food retail display cases since they enable service and maintenance to be carried out quickly, with no disruption to store trading hours. There is no need to de-solder the complete valve and put a new one into the system. Just leave the valve body in place, replace the internal parts as required and you can get the system up and running again quickly. Service kits are also available.

Fewer models. Broader scope.

"Our revitalized EVR range saves on applied, development, and storage costs. From April 2018, the EVR v2 range will completely have replaced the production of the actual EVR, EVRE and EVRH ranges. 30% fewer but more versatile models suit more applications and refrigerants while being backward compatible” says Allan Chara, Marketing Director Cooling Refrigeration Controls. “We come now with revitalized ranges of products and services from the same supplier with high quality as a standard for key air conditioning and refrigeration business, compatible with today demands for higher reliability, versatility, efficiency to meet the demands of the industry. All this is available by the major wholesalers and can be selected online with the new Coolselector® together with Optyma™ condensing units, T2/TE2 thermostatic expansion valves, electronic controllers, pressure switches etc" he adds.

The complexity reduction leads also to cost optimization in air conditioning systems. For installers, streamlined range means the right valve are more likely to be available, thus helping manage inventory and avoid logistic issues.

The changeover does not impact the coil program (SCN-SCT) and the EVU/L/CSV non-serviceable valves.
